Who we are

About us

Global Futures Academy helps young learners become informed, responsible, and compassionate global citizens. Through our virtual, internationally focused programs, we help students understand the wider world, think more deeply about their place in it, and build the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in a complex, interconnected world.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help young learners develop a global mindset and gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to explore different perspectives and engage thoughtfully with their communities and beyond.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every young person grows up to be a global citizen — someone who is a thoughtful role model for positive change at home and abroad.

Inspiring Global Citizenship Through Education

People Holding Globe

As a virtual Academy, we are able to offer students in Grades 4 - 12 the opportunity to access the kind of globally focused learning usually reserved for international schools so young learners can build the skills they will need to thrive in a global, interconnected world.

Join us in shaping the future with young learners who can think globally, question thoughtfully, solve problems collaboratively, and lead with empathy.

Our Faculty

Global Futures Academy was founded by Ms. T. Anderson, an Ivy League Political Science graduate, former teacher, certified health and well-being coach, and self-described world citizen who believes young learners need more opportunities to build the skills they need to thrive in a global world.

Ms. Anderson holds a BA in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and International Political Economy from Columbia University and an MA in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and International Political Economy from The Ohio State University. During her undergraduate studies, she also spent her junior year abroad studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, England, where she lived for more than a decade.

Ms. Anderson's training as a certified health and well-being coach informs Global Futures Academy’s whole-child approach, including its focus on wellbeing, identity, self-awareness, healthy habits, emotional regulation, respectful relationships, and thoughtful decision-making.

Before founding Global Futures Academy, Ms. Anderson founded and ran a sustainability consultancy for over a decade dedicated to helping people and organizations across the UK and Europe adopt pro-environmental behaviors, design greener IT systems, and use smart technologies to reduce energy and water consumption.

She was also an Varying Exceptionalities / Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida, where she served as a 9th grade IEP teacher and taught Math, Science, and Learning Strategies. In this role, she worked with students who needed support with organization, confidence, planning, follow-through, and learning how to learn.

She brings that practical teaching experience into her classes, along with her background in international relations, global issues, sustainability, health and well-being, and family learning, to deliver thoughtful, globally focused programs at Global Futures Academy.
